I had never heard of the East London Japanese Kids Club until I saw an advert for an event they are holding on Saturday November 14th from 3pm to 5pm. It is described as an introduction to origami. Visitors will be able to watch origami demonstrations and have a go at it themselves at the Welcome Centre at St Mary's Church, Walthamstow.

Now this may not sound too exciting, kids' stuff in fact, but I would not be so sure. It could be fun. Anyway, £1 for five origami sheets to start on sounds like a bargain to me. It is not just the paper you would be buying. This should become apparent when you realise that from such small beginnings bigger and greater things may grow, as this talk by Robert Lang shows:
