Labour councillors have forced a proposal through to build a swimming pool and leisure centre on the Arcade site by selling off the Pool and Track site in Walthamstow and borrowing £35 million when the council is already broke.

In so doing, they have also ignored the need for a financial appraisal and have conducted no studies to see whether the High Street is the right place for a swimming pool. This is all against the recommendations of the council's own scrutiny committee.

What can I say? These people are an embarrassment; not financially potty-trained at all.
