To the right of Keeran Designs Ltd is a spot for a piece of well-deserved loafing which all Walthhamstownians who take their slothful moments seriously should be aware of.

There are, of course, a few other spots worth knowing about on Forest Road, but this would be a fair first call for most of us, were we to take a leasurely treck along Forest Road from the tube station to contemplate the local wonders.

Coffee and Chat Snack Bar, facing Pretoria Avenue, the camoflaged offerings at HC Briggs and the car clamping wars in front of the launderette opposite, gives plenty for the idle to take in while vaguely sipping at a coffee on the tables outside. These, (there are two), have some comfortable wicker chairs around them to sink into. My latte (£1.20) came in a tall glass on a saucer, with a long spoon and one of those sugar shakers which are so superior to the paper sachets that chain coffee shops try to impose on the idler these days.

There is an internet cafe at the back of Coffee and Chat, but as I was definitely there to do nothing today, I can only say it is there for anyone who has an urgent need to attend to their affairs. This is presumably also the market they are catering to by their advert in the window encouraging people to 'grab' their coffee here, or possibly they are encouraging commuters on their way to the nearby tube station to stock up on their morning cafeine as they make their way into the centre of London.

For the slightly less frenetic, the cafe, which is very clean, also provides some hot food, pasta and salad. It is however probably mainly notable for the freshly made sandwiches, baguettes, ciabatta and panini which are also so popular in the High Street. There is a glass fronted counter inside where people can choose the fillings that they want.
You wouldn't know that only a week ago they'd had to shut for a day when a German cockroach infestation was discovered by hygiene inspectors.

The exterior is done out in the light purple or lilac which was once a feature at another Polish business in St James's Street, Lolek, since simply renamed Polksi Sklep.

To the right is KMS Business Services Ltd.
