A few doors down from the left of Launderette on Pretoria Avenue is Hitesh Store at number 84. Actually, it is Hitesh News and Convenience Store, so presumably a convenient place to buy news for people who like to pay for it. I haven't bought a paper for ages, and so, I expect, haven't many other people as well. We can get a free piece of the dead wood press at Blackhorse Road Station or when we get on the train, and there is always the internet.

You don't get jazz mags on the tube however, so there is one small part of Hitesh's market which is safe. The shop also sells greetings cards, lottery tickets, icecream, sweets, cigarettes, bus passes, drinks and ambient goods, and like Pretoria Stores up the road, is a paypoint for utility bills and council tax. The sign outside advertises IRN-BRU, which I thought was unusual this far south until I saw similar a promotion at Collins Stores in Palmerston Road. Opposite Stoneydown Park.
