Spice Lounge, on the site of Khan's Restaurant, at 54 St James Street, has a slightly shabby and forbidding black frontage. The mood continues with a rather bitter post about it on the internet by someone saying that their credit card was abused when they had ordered take-away from this establishment. This post has been repeated on a couple of review sites. However, another writer who ate in last year recommended it as quite good value for money.

I have never eaten in, but I have had their food: when they first opened, it was fresh, well cooked and tasty. I did eventually have a disappointing experience though, when a dish I'd ordered arrived with a very meager portion inside. I have stopped ordering from there and have tended to order from the Bengal Curry House down the road instead.

They are situated at the knee-cap of the dog-leg of St James's Street where the traffic turns off towards Markhouse Road. Either side are Ladbrokes and Kute Cutz Hair and Beauty (No 2 Station Road). The opposite corner of St James's Street is dominated by the boarded up Coach and Horses, while on the other side of Station Road are Walthamstow Bookkeeping Services Ltd, trading as Michael Bell Accounting.
