Behind Elite Property Services at 46 St James's Street is a small grey pained lock-up with a shutter, AKA "The Workshop". I have only ever seen the shutters down. It is the home of Docklands Engineering Services.
I have long learned not to take anything at face value where the technological and engineering prowess of local businesses is concerned. This may just look like an ordinary lock-up for some guys who tinker about a bit with engines, but you can never tell round here. This is a borough where local engineers constructed the first all-British motor car and the first all-British aeroplane, pretty much in even less prepossessing spaces than the kind of place which Dockland occupies. Over the door they say they repair sell and 'rewind' electrical motors. Electrical motors on what, is what I wonder?
