On 5/07/2008 environmental health officers sought an order for Kebabish Original of 26 St James's Street, to be immediately closed due to cockroach infestation and poor hygiene. It has since been allowed to re-open.
They seem to be part of a chain emanating in Scotland. This has a website, but this is annoyingly non-user friendly and is short of useful information. On the basis that no amount of slick presentation will make up for the basic requirement of hygiene before all else, I will say no more than to note the proximity of the doctors at St James Health Centre over the road and the Firs Medical Centre. Out of hours cases of food poisoning can be treated at Whipps Cross Hospital, though note the high cost of parking for patients who don't use an ambulance. There is a minicab service to the left.
