As I recently mentioned in a post about local football, there is a large sports centre on Coppermill Lane, just after the Coppermill Park if you are approaching from the Blackhorse Road or St James's Street direction.
It has 4 mini football pitches, 4 junior football pitches, 9 adult football pitches including a floodlit and astroturfed pitch. So there are often quite a lot of games going on including hockey. Some cricket gets played on the 2 pithes and in the 4 nets. Then there is the basketball and a coach training programme. The facilities are used by such mighty and venerable footballing talents as Leyton Orient and Old Parmitarians.
There is a bar and a fair amount of parking available, so the facilities also get used for various public meetings.
