And hopefully not gone tomorrow. Spoilt Bitch, at 99 High Street has closed, replaced by a very well designed looking Unisex Hair Salon, which offers specialist services in Weaves, Braids, Wig Caps, Cutting, Eyelash Extensions,Manicure, Pedicure and something called 'etc.'.
They do not have their prices clearly marked up (yet), so have to face competition from establishments nearby which are not so shy about letting potential customers know what they are in for. Such places, vying for a female trade with varying degrees of candour, include Excel World, Glamour, Classic Hair Salon (now at Beste Erkek Berber Salonu), Robert Barron, Snowdrop, Shanze Hairdressers and Selina Debrah (UK) and as such deserve to be known about by anyone who doesn't want to be shamed into paying a bill that came as an unnecessary shock at the end of a pampering session. This openness about pricing policies is important in a High Street which, (ignoring the outstanding clothing offers), with its excellent perfumeries, nailbars, cosmetics and hair care product emporia, is a destination in its own right for women who want to look good. Hair 2 Day have plenty of additional competition from businesses which do not advertise their prices, presumably because they have loyal niche markets. There are no known male hairdressers operating without advertising their prices clearly and prominently that I have come across, even the unisex ones.
Hair 2 day's very professionally produced flyer tells me that they have an 'opening offer' of 50% off with this flyer. Maybe they do, but they don't say 50% of what, I am none the wiser. Nor does Jackie, the manager, say how on Hair 2 Day's behalf how long the offer is open for.
