At 17 St James's Street is a rather brash Halal establishment which could cause a major diplomatic row in any place other than Walthamstow.

Home of the Bombay Indiano, (Chili Sauce, jalapeno peppers, onion, green chillies, available in Tandoori Chicken or Spicy Beef ), and the Chicken Tikka Balti Pizza (Onion, green peppers, sweetcorn, chicken tikka or chicken tikka balti), just two of the delights costing from £5.50 for a 7" to £14.45 for 15" and available in thin crust, deep pan or (for a surcharge) stuffed crust, the Indiano Pizza also offers a Hawaian Pizza (comprising turkey, of all things, with pineapple and mushroom) and a Chinese Chicken Pizza (with, for what its worth, something called 'Chinese Chicken' in it).

At least they are offending the national cuisines of just about everybody. They are also offending customers' wallets. Their cheapest and least faffed-about pizza is a cheese and tomato, which at £3.95 for a 7" Pizza does not seem very reasonable albeit it is only 5p more expensive than at Moon Pizza round the corner. Grillers, up the hill, will sometimes provide 7" of pizza for £1.50, buy one get one free.

Chicken nuggets, which are £2.00 for 6 at Mega Bite, are £2.25 at Indiano. By calling them 'fries', Indiano ask for £1 for a 'regular' portion and £1.30 for the large, while at Perfect Fried Chicken, the ordinary English designation of chips are on sale 70p for a small, £1 for a large portion. The fries at Favorite Chicken and Ribs, which is right next door, cost 89p for a 'regular' and £1.10 for a large one.
