Next door to Costcutter, at the opposite end of the zebra crossing facing Oxfam, is a dry cleaner's shop convenient for the commuters who use St James's Street to drop off a suit for dry cleaning.
Apollo has a nearby rival at Press2Impress, as well as those up the hill in the High Street, at Forest Dry Cleaners and Clothing Care Dry Cleaner.
Unlike at the successful Clothing Care, servicing the commuters at Walthamstow Central, there is no sign on the wall at Apollo, to let customers in the St James's Street area know what the tariffs are for cleaning. The owner seems to think that people either don't care what things cost, can read minds, or use his business every day so already know all the prices off by heart, and there is no need to advertise these on the wall in his shop or to produce any leaflets which people can take away with them. This is a ludicrous approach to take towards customers.
The place may be as straight as a dye, but not advertising prices is a practice which rings alarm bells with me. I doubt very much that customers know what the prices are, nor is it an intelligent means of gaining new customers' confidence for a firm to be secretive about their service charges.
