At 241 High St (Next to Gul Enterprises and Perfect Fried Chicken) is the large double-fronted business of Afro Cosmetics, selling all manner of cosmetics for men and women, hairpieces, extensions, several hundred wigs, electric razors, crimping tongs and preening gadgets. The shelves are groaning with shampoos, soaps and hair and beauty products, particularly those suitable for people with darker skin-tones, such as the Sleek range.
Afro Cosmetics is one of several successful emporia of cosmetics in the High Street such as Hollywood Cosmetics at the St James Street end, Hair and Beauty Ltd opposite Sainsbury's at the crossing of the High Street with Palmerstone Road.
They are also agents on the High Street for Western Union, along with Iqbal Travel and Time 2 Talk.
