Next door to High Spirits is a clothing store with a black, white and gold sign above its entrance, the door and window framing in black, giving it a strangely last century feel for a shop which sells fashion items. (Tel: 0208 521 9045)
In the left windows are some items designed to entice women inside, (I believe they are called handbags, though I did not notice that the shop sells them) and the right window contains clothes for men. The sign above the door, which is basically masculine, promises various brands of clothes will be inside: Versace, Dolce and Gabana, Moschino Hugo Boss, Gianfranco Ferre, Armani Jeans and Iceberg. The Hugo Boss and Armani Jeans brands are in fact available: some AJ branded T shirts can be had on a £10 rail; that brand's T shirts are also hanging on rails to the back right of the shop at a ludicrous £59.99. This shop is expensive. A hoodie from Smet costs £159.99. Pity this look is such a clichι and can be picked up on the market for a fiver. The Hugo Boss range is also pretty pricey, but quite nice, but I think that the people buying it won't thank a middle aged man like me for saying so. I won't buy it though: as I pointed out in an earlier entry on Lui Menswear, Hugo Boss kitted out the Nazis. (Only following orders...)
To the left is High Street Kebabish.
