Next door to 3 Store facing out towards the High Street, Tower Boots and the market is Blue Inc. At 160 High Street, this is a truly excellent local menswear shop with a very edgy fashion style that young lads of 16 to 29 should understand. The clothes are young and fresh, with interesting modern designs; fashionable without being prissy (but avoiding the blatancy of the thuggishness of much of what is on offer at places like 1st Choice or Top City, though interestingly, less so at Style Overdose these days). They are also very reasonably priced without looking too 'mass market'. Shopping with a very fussy female friend who can shop for Britain, the June 2008, collection were described as "Really good quality. Cool."
This shop, owned by a business based in Walthamstow, at Blue Inc House, 13 Uplands Business Park, Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, London E17 5QN, (Tel 0870 4580871) is one of about 35 stores across the UK, primarily in shopping centres. In October 2007, the company launched an online store.
Managing director Steven Cohen (formerly CEO of First Sports Group), aims to open six to eight new stores in the London area in the 2008.
The branding for Blue Inc has been designed by Spanish company Deluxe Vision. (Although Deluxe Vision are the soul of discretion about their clients, that is not the case with Howard Kennedy, the solicitors who arranged the buy out of Blue Inc's predecessor company, Mr Byright, by Mr Cohen's consortium Marlow Retail.)
