Ladbrokes

Next door to Orientex is Ladbrokes, at 150 High Street. This is a betting shop, competing with Paddy Power and the Tote, as well as two Quicksilvers and Cairn's Amusements. They are hoped to be joined by Metrobet, a few yards down the hill.

Ladbrokes, which is different from the other chain bookies businesses snuffling up the punters money and taking it out of the local economy only in that it has a red coloured frontage, is open from 9.00am to 9.30pm at night Monday to Saturday. They are also open on Sundays from 11.00am to 18.00pm. On the other side of the shop, to the left, is N&A Fishmongers.
