First there was the earthquake and now strange objects have been seen flying around East London, MOD officials apparently trying to calm local folk convinced an alien invasion is at hand. This has lead to accusations of a cover-up.

I missed both events, safe and sound in Walthamstow, just like I missed the 'police crackdown' on local youth crime the Met have grandly named Operation Kartel. This surge of uncharacteristic activity which they are trying to pass off as having taken place in this neighbourhood , like the UFO, completely passed me by. Maybe it's because this activity was actually going on elsewhere, such as in Lambeth. But the Met have claimed bragging rights across other parts of London to make people feel they are 'doing something' about a hoodie near you. Or maybe they just don't want people to realize just how shockingly bad things have got in that South London borough.

Whatever the truth, seeing is believing. The Met have not provided any evidence to demonstrate that they are focusing their resources on the needs of Walthamstow, where, yes, we do have a crime problem, and no, they have not dealt with it, leaving it to the locals. Or am I imagining things?
