Next door to the Pop In Cafe and opposite 7 Stars and Orientex is the Madina Supermarket, which in its heyday sold fresh Afro-Caribbean and Asian vegetables (in kilos and lbs), rice (10kg of broken Thai rice for £7.99), a huge range of pulses, nuts and flours, sauces, oils, tinned meats and fish. They also have a variety of frozen Asian samozas, snacks, vegetables and seafood in deep freezer chests.

The clean and spacious halal butchery section, to the right of the shop, solds goat meat as well as lamb, beef, mutton and all manner of assorted offal, including tripe, sheep's feet, and hearts.

The main sign over the entrance never did seem to have arrive to complete the look of this shop, so we were left with adverts for tinned goods by Tropical Sun and Jamaica Sun and the small sign saying that this is an 'Afro-Caribbean Grocery and Halal Butchers'. Their other branch is at Palace Parade.

The shop to the right which used to be the butchers now sells phone accessories, hubble pipes and luggage, while the left hand portion remains a grocery for the time being, though for how long, one can't know. The stock is seriously depleted and a handwritten sign says they are having a closing down sale with 15% off orders over a tenner.
