On the corner of the junction of High Street and Selbourne Avenue; opposite Benny Dee's on the corner and shops like Discount Decore over the road, is Mr Zhong. They are next door to 7 Stars. This is a Chinese medicine business, offering herbal remedies, manipulation and massage. I am not clear how different they are from the outfit at Blackhorse Road offering a Shaolin Medicine Clinic, though they are primarily a gym as far as I can tell. Mr Zhong also provides training for Tai Chi Qigong.

A poster in the window cuts to the chase: 'Step out of Infertility. Get a baby. Get more happiness'. Quite how a bundle of mostly harmless herbs is going to achieve this without straying into the world of quack nostrums is anybody's guess. I do however know that the business seems to have a steady stream of customers whenever I go past it, so they must be doing something right.
