Like at Pound Market, (next door to Woolworths), Pound Power does not quite restrict itself to one pound items, (the sign in the window says ₤1+) but on the whole it is pretty true to its ethos of selling at around the pound mark.
They have a good range of next year's diaries, notebooks and toys at a pound, as well as a good range of DIY items, tools and electrical items which head up to three ninety-nine for extension cables. Their mugs are a tad dearer than at Michael Young China Shop, but their Luminarc Preserving Jars are slightly cheaper, ranging from ₤1.69 to ₤2.39. Woolworths can't really compete for price, and nor can the Sainsbury's opposite, on like for like items.
