Next door to Help the Aged is Ethel Austin, which in our branch mainly seems to sell children's clothes, though they do have some ladies wear.
This chain was founded in Liverpool in 1934 and has 300 other shops elsewhere in the UK. It was bought by ABN-ARMO in 2004, a Dutch Bank which was itself swallowed by a consortium of Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS), Fortis, and Banco Santander, in October 2007.
The shop is as interesting as you would expect from a place owned by a committee of bankers. I have no other opinions about this shop except to note that the last time I wrote about this shop, in October 2007, there was a sale on. In March 2008, they had another one, with up to 70% reductions being advertised, before going into 'buy one, get one free mode'.
Children's clothes can also be bought at Children's Empire and Kidzone.
