Trust Shoes, next to Kapadokya Restaurant, is a shoe shop catering for females. As with so many female oriented businesses in this part of the High Street, prices are not on obvious display in the window, though the knee length boots with a four inch stiletto heel which did have a price visible on the sole seemed reasonable value. Prices are clearer at Nikki.
The shop does have quite a good trade, judging by the body language of the male shopping escorts standing watching as yet another pair is tried on. Not enough chairs, so many shoes. These extend into the High Street on a stall which is placed out in front of the shop when the market is on. If looking for more expensive famous branded items, try Tower Boots, which also sells some men's boots.
Having criticised the lack of transparency, I must say that a visit with two avid shoe shoppers to the High Street in June 2008 led to the interesting result that Trust Shoes was the place they first decided to buy something in; a pair of Gola ladies' trainers for £18, identical replacements to a pair which had previously been bought for £35 in the Baker Street area. The owner, by the way, loved a good haggle, something my Gola buying friend had been too shy to attempt. He dropped the price for her companion-in-consumerism several times, though she did not in the end buy from what my friends described as 'a cheap but good selection'.
