At 28 High Street, Kapadokya Restaurant, in my view, used to emphasize the take-away aspects of its business, both on the shop-front and internally, where customers can stand at a large counter to view a menu even a drunkard could take in prominently behind the head of the proprietor.

However, more recently they have made it a more inviting place to eat in, offering 'daily stews' and making it clear that this is a place where the cooking is redolent of heart and hearth.

For those who wish to sit at the tables to eat in, there is a fair choice of starters, including humous and a mixed meze. Kebabs range from two pounds fifty for a small Doner to six pounds fifty for a mixed kebab (they also do chicken, lamb shish, cop shish and lamb chops).

This restaurant also sells rice puddings. Its main attraction though is the freshness of the bread. They have recently installed a low table by the restaurant window, so that customers and passers-by can now watch the bread being rolled and made by hand by a lady sitting in a headscarf, making it look like she has done so since childhood.
