At 27 the High Street, situated between HMS Bazaar and the Tropical Taste Filipino Chinese Japanese and Indian buffet, is Amin Opticians. I did not notice this shop for months after it opened, and didn't give it proper attention, even when deliberately looking at the shops for this blog. It has a white frontage and a pair of beautiful carved dragons above the ground floor, which I presume are an emblem of the Warners who built most of this part of Walthamstow.
Amin's seems to take its approach to opening for its customers from the dustier parts of French industry or the NHS. Don't therefore plan to use them during your own lunch break:

Wednesday Closed all day
Thursday 9.30-1.15 Closed for Lunch 1.45-5.00

I have never used Amin's services. Perhaps, not having spotted them earlier, I should.
